In January 2024 Mark launched Pathway Mentoring CIC, a community interest company, to offer 'through the gate' mentoring for those leaving prisons in the West Midlands, prison based programmes and projects to help prepare prisoners for release, and consultancy, training and support for faith and community groups who want to welcome Prison leavers. unlocking hope for lasting change
Mark is a Church of England Pioneer minister, creative and community activist. He lives in Telford, Shropshire where he leads Safespace new-monastic community and the founder of Pathway Mentoring CIC supporting prison leaders and community and faith groups who want to welcome Prison leavers.
Mark has worked with a large secondary school, growing a spiritual community of around 80 young people along with a peer mentoring programme. He started and ran a night club project and free night cafe. He built a team to work amongst the local alternative spirituality and Mind*Body*Spirit community. He developed a ministry in AFC Telford United which saw him become a Director, launch a local youth project and become a founding Trustee of a youth charity. He co-founded safespace
newmonastic community in Telford.
Mark has spoken at many Churches, groups and events, he is a highly experienced preacher and speaker.
He has created and curated worship at events, gatherings and festivals, including Greenbelt, hosted creative and contemplative retreats both in person and online, written liturgy
and led pilgrimage walks.
Mark has taught for the Centre for Youth Ministry, CMS Pioneer ministry course and for several Diocesan Ministerial education programmes. He runs an online course with Ian Mobsby on 'Starting and Sustaining missional newmonastic communities' and is a Fresh Expressions Greenhouse Facilitator.
Mark has delivered seminars for Churches, groups and mission Pioneers in Europe, America, Australia, South Korea and Africa.
Mark writes poetry as part of his own spiritual and theological practice. In recent years he has been reading and writing poetry at festivals, retreats and events. Some of his poetry and prayer can be found on his blog PicturaPoesis.
